This unique window was inspired by the lyrics of the song written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, and was made for a friend who loves Beatles.
This large wood window was constructed without nails, with the use of wooden pegs. It had original glass untouched with characteristic imperfections, waves and air bubbles.
The colourful images were painted on the back of the glass by a method called reverse painting and it was protected by a layer of a thick lacquer (for scratch resistance).
This was one of the first windows I ever created, about 20 years ago and it looks exactly the same today. The colours will never fade and the beauty of the stained glass is timeless.
In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines
So we sailed up to the sun
Till we found a sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves
In our yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
And our friends are all aboard
Many more of them live next door
And the band begins to play
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
